B Corp Month 2026: A Simple Symbol, A Powerful Signal

Spend five minutes scrolling #BCorpMonth this March, and you would have travelled the world. Company visits in Nairobi. Recertification stories in Taiwan. An open letter from Nordic business leaders calling on chief executives to act on climate. A government proclamation in the United States. And in Hong Kong, a community of certified companies adds its voice to a single global message: Part of a global movement working to benefit people and the planet—and they can prove it

What is B Corp Month?

Every March, B Corp Month takes centre stage as a global annual campaign. Spearheaded by the nonprofit network B Lab™ and Sistema B, this movement unites a community of more than 10,000 Certified B Corporations™ across 104 countries and 163 industries to showcase what responsible business looks like in practice. Together, these companies, which provide over one million jobs, are proving that business can be a powerful force for good.

The theme for 2026

This year the campaign carried the theme “A Simple Symbol, A Powerful Signal.” The timing was deliberate. Words like green, sustainable and carbon neutral have been stretched so thin that many consumers no longer trust them, while many honest companies have gone quiet rather than risk accusations of greenwashing. The 2026 campaign put the focus back on what stands behind the B logo: verified evidence rather than marketing claims.

This was also the first B Corp Month in which companies were certified under the new B Lab™ standards. The familiar model of reaching a minimum score of 80 points has been retired. Companies must now meet Foundation Requirements and demonstrate performance across seven defined Impact Topics, and certification decisions are issued by independent assurance providers approved by B Lab™, with audits continuing throughout the certification cycle. The bar is higher, and the signal behind the symbol is stronger for it. The month fell in a symbolic year as well: B Lab™ marked 20 years in 2026, a milestone we cover in a separate article.

B Corp Month in Hong Kong

For the Hong Kong and Macau community, March 2026 carried weight. A decade after the first local certification in 2016, around 45 companies in Hong Kong now hold B Corp status, spanning education, design, hospitality, consumer goods, professional services, finance and manufacturing. What began as a handful of pioneers has become a community that reaches into the daily life of the city.

March also opened a new chapter locally. The window to certify under the previous standards closed at the end of February, which means that every company in Hong Kong and Macau beginning its certification from B Corp Month onwards is measured against the most rigorous version of the standards yet. For businesses here that have been watching the movement from the sidelines, the message of the month was straightforward: the path is clearly marked, the standards are demanding, and the community walking it is larger every year.

Throughout the month, local B Corps joined the global campaign by sharing their stories, their certification journeys and the reasons they choose to balance profit with purpose, adding Hong Kong voices to a conversation happening in more than one hundred countries at once.

Until next March

B Corp Month ends, but the work it celebrates does not. If you want to support the movement, the global B Corp directory lists every certified company, including those in Hong Kong and Macau. If you lead a business and want to know where it stands, the self-assessment on B Impact™, B Lab™’s free and confidential tool, is the same first step every certified company once took. And if you simply want to keep watching the movement grow, follow #BCorpMonth.

A simple symbol. A powerful signal. See you in March 2027.
