20 Years of the B Corp Movement.
B Corps: interdependent since 2006. Twenty years ago our founders asked whether business could be measured differently. The answer is now an ecosystem — and Hong Kong & Macau are part of it.
Twenty years, told by the people who built it.
Hear from friends, peers and partners in this special look back at our 20-year history, produced by B Lab™ Global.
How it began, where we are, and what comes next.
How it began
In 2006, three friends set out to build a different kind of economy — one where companies compete not just to be the best in the world, but the best for the world. The first 81 businesses certified together, choosing to be measured differently.
Where we are now
More than 10,800 Certified B Corporations across 102 countries and 163 industries, together employing over a million people — and the launch of the new B Lab™ Standards, the biggest evolution of the certification yet.
2026 and beyond
Raising the bar through world-leading standards, growing an inclusive global community, deepening collective action across industries, embedding stakeholder governance into law, and building new narratives of success.
A movement, measured.

I’m inspired by the countless B Corps doubling down on community investment and radical collaboration.
Ten years of the movement in Hong Kong.
From one to a community
Education for Good became Hong Kong’s first Certified B Corporation in 2016. A decade later the local community spans finance, retail, technology, education, manufacturing and more — proof that the movement translates to one of the world’s most competitive economies.
The next twenty years start now.
Whether you have been with the movement from the start or are just finding your feet — there is a place for you in it.
